Decisions on Location - Note Taking Video Activity with Questions!

(0)
Worksheet and video activity that includes questions about decisions on location. The activity includes a video for students to watch about the factors that affect business location, and then are to answer the questions that relate to what was discussed within the video clip. This is a quick prep activity that could be used to structure a full lesson, as it asks students to go into detail when explaining their answers. After students complete the activity, the answers could be debated with the whole class.

2.2.1 Organisational Charts

PowerPoint (with bell ringer, starter, & plenary). separate worksheet for main activity included. This is quite an ‘active’ lesson and involves students moving around the school to interview members of staff. It could be tailored differently but I’ve found students in the past enjoy it if you can add a competition element to it (who can accurately draw the schools organisational chart first). *Ideally you need to print off a few extra sheets to complete the first activity. However, these points could be discussed (teacher led) as appose to students moving around the room, if this isn’t possible.

2.2.4 Trade Unions

This lesson is focused around what a Trade Union is, alongside the benefits and limitations for the employee and the employer. This lesson is best completed on a computer, however if you have five minutes to print some quick articles about Trade Unions it could easily be completed in the classroom. The aim of the lesson is for students to create their own research/writing on Unionism and then to record it and print a character with a QR code (which could be presented in a subsequent lesson. I have added notes onto some of the slides also for extra clarity. Included: PPT (with bell ringer, starter, main activity and plenary questions) Printable bell ringer

I have created this resource to coincide with teaching Operations Management. There are twenty printable slides with the terminology printed separately to the corresponding definition. This is a multi-use resource that could be displayed around the classroom, or as a starter/plenary (get students to choose one of the words without looking and then write the correct definition). This could also be useful when revising with students and supporting them in being able to answer one/two mark definition questions. Definitions included: Fixed costs Variable costs Invention Innovation Break-even analysis Productivity Production Quality Operations management Margin of safety

Leadership Styles Homework

This is a homework sheet that could also be used as an activity in class. It asks students to choose one of the leadership styles and then to list the advantages and disadvantages of the leadership style. It then gets students to attempt an example style question focused upon ‘autocratic leadership’. Answers are included on the second page.
